HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL YOU VISUAL THINKERS & DOERS…
… WITH WHOM I HAVE HAD THE PLEASURE TO WORK WITH AND LEARN FROM THIS YEAR. IT HAS BEEN A TRUE PLEASURE AND AN EXITING 2013, WHICH MAKES THE STAKES EVEN HIGHER FOR THE NEW YEAR…
It has been a beautiful yet busy autumn, which mean that I am a wee bit behind when it comes to updating my site with my latest adventures in the field of graphic facilitation, participatory leadership training, capacitybuilding for more collaborative, resilient organizations, and more.
While I am getting up to speed with pictures and blog posts, you can have a look at my ‘Evaluation of 2013’ – Four simple steps to evaluate your year and get ready for 2014.

All you need is post it notes, your calender to help remind you what you’ve actually done, and some markers in different colors. Feel free to copy, print, share with friends.
VISUAL RECORDING FOR GRONTMIJ
IMPLEMENTATION OF A NEW STRATEGY, IS BY DEFAULT ONE OF THE MOST THREATENING THING TO AN ORGANIZATION, BECAUSE IT MEANS CHANGE
… so how can we turn that threat into a possiblity for meaningful growth in the organization. This was on the agenda yesterday when 70 project leaders and managers was gathering at Bella Sky for a full day of inspirational conversation. For me, part of it, I guess is about start sharing a different story, and acting on it is important too.
Below two of the participants are presenting their insights on the action part.
VIBORG MUNICIPALITY LOVES TO DRAW
OUR 2 DAY GRAPHIC FACILITATION TRAINING IS BECOMING POPULAR IN VIBORG AMONGST EMPLOYEES IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR…
And it makes me happy that people who are working jobs, that requires so much communication find the visual language useful in enabling that communication to be as clear and smooth as possible. We will be back twice during the autumn. I am looking forward to continue the work on the advanced courses in October.
DRAWING TOWARDS SUSTAINABILITY
MY ANNUAL VISIT TO EINDHOVEN, DOING AN OPEN TRAINING HOSTED AT BY
‘THE FLEXIBLE PLATFORM’
Not only is the venue great for workshops, with big windows and plenty of space, the whole area Strijp-S is a bubbling innovative space where new ideas occupy old factory buildings.
The training was characterized by ambition, motivation and slight impasion… very dutch 😉
AN ESTONIAN LEARNING JOURNEY
WHAT IS THE TRUE ESSENCE OF PARTICIPATORY LEADERSHIP TODAY?
WHAT IS MY ROLE AND PERSONAL PRACTICE AS A LEADER?
Those were some of the questions we explored in a beautifully hosted gathering in Sänna, Southern Estonia. The Art of Hosting is a way of working and being together that promotes participation, collaboration, collective intelligence, and actions for positive change in the world. Along with exploring these questions the participants were practicing the methods and mindsets that enhance this way of working.

VISUAL CAPACITY BUILDING IN PBLQ – THE HAGUE
A VISIT TO THE HAGUE TO WORK WITH PBLQ, WHO ARE DOING PUBLIC CONSULTANCY OF ALL KINDS IN THE NETHERLANDS AND BEYOND.
It is always interesting to do internal trainings in organizations, as it allows for cultural and professional needs to surface and make it even more important to be flexible and ‘dance in the moment’ so the facilitator can adapt to the needs of the whole.
A great first time in The Hague, and dare I say, there are more to come..
REBUILD 21
REBUILDING BUSINESS LIFE IN THE 21ST CENTURY, IS NOT AN EASY TASK, BUT TOGETHER WE MIGHT JUST BE ABLE TO DO IT – CAN WE AFFORD NOT TO ?
Co-creation is bliss, especially with skilled people and good friends, and 9 meters of blank canvas. At the Rebuild Conference in Danish Design Center I had teamed up with Nanna Frank (http://underombygning.com/), Cecilie Otzen (http://sketchybanana.dk/), and Emil Rose to be able to work less intense and enjoy more of an amazing lineup of keynote speakers, workshops, and culinary experiences.
THE GOOD (WORKING) LIFE…
… FOR PEDAGOGICAL LEADERS IN NØRREBRO/BISPEBJERG MUNICIPALITY, AS A FOUNDATION FOR THE GOOD LIFE FOR OUR CHILDREN.
Last Wednesday, I had the pleasure of working with Interchange (http://www.interchange.dk/) and approximately 70 pedagogical leaders around what good collaboration means, in words, metaphors and practice.

Presenting dreams and visions, along with some of the challenges the leaders are experiencing on a daily basis. Notice the challenging placement of the visual recording.

And also what the leaders are proud. Here is an examples from one of the participants, who were also at the Graphic Facilitation workshop art the HUB. What a beauty !
