A VISIT TO THE HAGUE TO WORK WITH PBLQ, WHO ARE DOING PUBLIC CONSULTANCY OF ALL KINDS IN THE NETHERLANDS AND BEYOND.
It is always interesting to do internal trainings in organizations, as it allows for cultural and professional needs to surface and make it even more important to be flexible and ‘dance in the moment’ so the facilitator can adapt to the needs of the whole.
A great first time in The Hague, and dare I say, there are more to come..
REBUILDING BUSINESS LIFE IN THE 21ST CENTURY, IS NOT AN EASY TASK, BUT TOGETHER WE MIGHT JUST BE ABLE TO DO IT – CAN WE AFFORD NOT TO ?
Co-creation is bliss, especially with skilled people and good friends, and 9 meters of blank canvas. At the Rebuild Conference in Danish Design Center I had teamed up with Nanna Frank (http://underombygning.com/), Cecilie Otzen (http://sketchybanana.dk/), and Emil Rose to be able to work less intense and enjoy more of an amazing lineup of keynote speakers, workshops, and culinary experiences.
The very beginning
.. to the very end.
… FOR PEDAGOGICAL LEADERS IN NØRREBRO/BISPEBJERG MUNICIPALITY, AS A FOUNDATION FOR THE GOOD LIFE FOR OUR CHILDREN.
Last Wednesday, I had the pleasure of working with Interchange (http://www.interchange.dk/) and approximately 70 pedagogical leaders around what good collaboration means, in words, metaphors and practice.
Presenting dreams and visions, along with some of the challenges the leaders are experiencing on a daily basis. Notice the challenging placement of the visual recording.
And also what the leaders are proud. Here is an examples from one of the participants, who were also at the Graphic Facilitation workshop art the HUB. What a beauty !

… AT THE HUB, COPENHAGEN. MY NEW FAVORITE SPOT FOR HOSTING WORKSHOPS.
It is becoming an annual tradition to have open trainings at the HUB with Nanna Frank (http://underombygning.com/) and we already have the dates for the next one coming up (28-29th October 2013). This one was another great experience with a good mix of participants from all 3 sectors, represented, 2 nationalities, and 15 human beings in the room. These open workshops are also always a good place for testing new experiments.
Here is one of the new experiments. Nanna explains how graphic facilitation can support process and project design showing this new model, where we are combining, designthinking, appreciative inquery, with visual tools.
In order to be good at integrating visual tools in your work, you must know what it feels like. Here filling out a template is being experienced on the floor.
Focus and serious fun
A NEW FESTIVAL IN DENMARK IS BEING BORN, AND LAST WEEK WE HAD A CLOSER LOOK AT WHAT YOU EXPERIENCE ON THIS FESTIVAL.
I had the pleasure of helping the organizers gain clarity around what makes ‘My Favorite Planet’ a different festival from any other you have seen.
Graphic Facilitation is a messy process, until the moment where you find clarity in the chaos.
thinking, brainstorming, and thinking some more…
… until it looks really messy…
And clarity takes shape. Post its are being translated to form and color.
PRACTICING THE ART OF DEMOCRACY, COLLABORATION AND CO-CREATION WITH A GROUP OF TEENAGERS FROM FURESØ KOMMUNE.
I was invited to spend an afternoon with 15 youth to help them defined a shared vision for their very own ‘Youth Culture House’. This turned out to be just as much about how we are together and works together, and what it means to truly dream, and to truly listen to each others dreams.
- What does the media have to say about the ‘Youthhouse’ in 5 years time when all your dreams and visions has turned into reality?
… And then working hard on how to get there
Beautiful visual recording by Christina
DOING MY FIRST RECIDENTIAL TRAINING EVER, IN THE BEAUTIFUL NATURE OF ESTONIA. WHAT A NICE ADDITION TO 2 DAY FULL PROGRAM TO SHARE MEALS AND EVENING TIME TOGETHER.
The training was carried out as part of the development program “Kaasajate Kasvulava”. The purpose of this unique program is to raise willingness and ability to effectively manage participatory processes. (www.kaasamine.ee).
A big thank you to the organizers for great hosting and Christina Hemmingsen for co-facilitating. I am looking forward to be back in Estonia in August 2013.
The best icons exhibited, ready for ‘Share & Steal’

Overcoming the fear of showing your drawing and showing of instead.
